Our
Street Organ
We are not only interested in clocks, but also
Automated Musical Instruments.
Ron Schmuck,
of the Great Canadian Nickelodeon
Company was
recently involved in the creation of our
"Street Organ".
The organ is hand turned and uses a traditional four
pump
bellows, the pipe work comprises of Ron’s
special "SchmuckenFluten" on melody, with violins,
bourdons and trombones on
accompaniment as well
as Bass. Also glockenspiel on counter melody.
We are presently working on adding five trumpets to
the bass.
This instrument plays the popular style
"Wurlitzer 125" Band Organ Music.
SchumckenFluten is pronounced
"Schmookenn Flooten" and is a very special pipe
made up of two
bourdones sharing the same back
but tuned slightly "Celeste" for that very
"Dutch Sound". Ron’s ancestors made them in
Soufflenheim, Alsace
(now part of France) 150
years ago.
